No man is an Iland, 

intire of itselfe; 

every man is a peece of the Continent, 

a part of the maine;

if a Clod bee washed away by the Sea, 

Europe is the lesse, 

as well as if a Promontorie were, 

as well as if a Manor of thy friends 

or of thine owne were; 

.

.

any mans death diminishes me,

because I am involved in Mankinde;

And therefore never send to know 

for whom the bell tolls; 

It tolls for thee.

섬과 섬은 

파롤의 언어로 계경한다

만일 너로부터 

적막을 물리치는 빛  

내면의 향훈이 발산되어

너의 분신들에 도달하게 되면 

그것이 어둠 속 섬들을 깨운다면

언어의 파랑이 고요해지며

존재의 파저 깊은 곳에 

서로가 연결됨을 알게 되어

잿빛 섬들은 채색되고

생명의 경이를 구가하리라
